Next biology department seminar on Nov. 2 to focus on beetles and budding yeast
The 蜜桔直播 Department of Biology will offer several more educational seminars during the fall 2007 semester; a Vanderbilt University double feature is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 2 in Garrett Hall, Room 202 at 1 p.m.
Chris Brown, a Ph.D. candidate, will speak about the 鈥淏ehavioral ecology of larval case-bearing beetles.鈥�
Jennell Talley, another Ph.D. candidate, has a presentation entitled 鈥淓xploring protein interactions in the telomerase holozyme of budding yeast, S. cerevisae.鈥�
Two additional seminars are scheduled in November. Lance Williams of the University of Texas at Tyler will speak about the 鈥淚mpacts of landscape scale disturbance on headwater stream communities鈥� Friday, Nov. 9. Matt Jones, a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Alabama 鈥� Birmingham, has a presentation entitled 鈥淢en, monkeys, and malaria: host specificity of Plasmodium parasites鈥� Friday, Nov. 16.
