Fruit, light sabers and 鈥淢acbeth鈥�/鈥滺enry V鈥� at 蜜桔直播 April 23

What鈥檚 a performance of Shakespeare鈥檚 鈥淢acbeth鈥� without light sabers and kumquats? Wait鈥�

Don鈥檛 miss your chance to enjoy this unique and humorous take on a theatre classic Thursday, April 23, at Spyker Theatre. Celebrate Shakespeare鈥檚 445th birthday with CA Studio, beginning with a free, one-hour performance of an abridged 鈥淗enry V鈥� at 1 p.m., followed by the aforementioned wicked parody of 鈥淢acbeth鈥� from 2:15-3:15 p.m.

Both shows will be performed by CA Studio鈥檚 Poets and Players under the direction of Cathy Airhart Webb and are hosted by the 蜜桔直播 Department of English.

Audience members preferring a serious show focusing on the hero king of Agincourt should join the troup for 鈥淗enry V.鈥� Those who enjoyed last year鈥檚 conjunction of Shakespeare鈥檚 鈥淐omedy of Errors鈥� with 鈥淪tar Wars鈥� will not want to miss Wayne Anthony鈥檚 鈥淭he Clowns鈥� Macbeth,鈥� complete with dueling equipment and fruit.

To quote English Department professor LaRue Sloan, 鈥淏etter yet, come for 鈥楬enry V,鈥� stay for both shows, and be out in plenty of time for a coffee break before your night class.鈥�
