鈥淲hat Do Women Want?鈥� March 26; part of Women鈥檚 History Month
蜜桔直播鈥檚 Diversity Committee will host 鈥淲hat Do Women Want?鈥� Thursday, March 26, 2:30 p.m. 鈥� 4 p.m., on the first floor of the 蜜桔直播 Library, Room 106. The program will feature 蜜桔直播 faculty and other special guests in honor of Women鈥檚 History Month.
Lynn Clark, chair of the Women鈥檚 History Month Committee and assistant professor of curriculum and instruction, said, 鈥淲e are very excited to have Dr. Jackie De Hon returning to our campus to speak about the political and economic contributions of women both locally and globally.鈥�
De Hon will also read from her upcoming book 鈥淧risms: Refracting the Light of Women鈥檚 Lives.鈥� Building on the literary theme, the program will feature a performance of Emily Dickinson鈥檚 letters and poetry by Cathy Airhart Webb, and Professor Marsha McGee will read poetry on 鈥淗onoring the Divine Feminine.鈥�
蜜桔直播 Professors Mara Loeb and Attapol Kuanliang will focus on women in the world of work with presentations "From Women's Work to Working Women: An historical overview of the gendering of labor" and "Gender differences in research productivity among criminal justice and criminology scholars" respectively. There will be time at the end of the program for questions and comments.
蜜桔直播 faculty member Robert Hanser will present on specific contributions of female scholars to criminology and criminal justice - disciplines that have traditionally been male-oriented - with his presentation titled 鈥淭he Impact of Feminist Criminologists on a Male-Dominated Discipline: A Focus on the Contributions of Meda Chesney-Lind.鈥�
