The Louisiana State Licensing Board for Contractors (LSLBC) and the Contractors' Education Trust Fund (CEFT) presented a $275,000 donation to the ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ Foundation for the ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ School of Construction Management at a ceremony on October 4, 2024.
ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ will hold the annual premier lecture and seminar series, the College of Business and Social Sciences Symposium, from September 30 - October 3, 2024. The theme for 2024 is "EveryONE Has a Story." The event will feature keynote speaker Ryan Campbell, a career fair, a cookout, the annual CBSS Brain Bowl, and many speaker sessions covering a wide range of topics.
Amwins, a leading national specialty insurance provider, recently recommitted its giving to the ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ Risk Management and Insurance program, bringing its total donation commitment to $100,000 over 10 years. A check presentation to commemorate the donation was held on September 17, 2024, in Hemphill Hall Room 208. Dr. Christine Berry, ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ First Lady and the Kim Sledge Chair of Risk Management and Insurance, organized the event. "We were honored to be joined by David Lavins, President of Amwins Access, who was joined by Tammy Culmone, Executive Vice President and Regional Leader at Amwins Group who has led the relationship with ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ for years," said Dr. Berry.
The ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ Gerontology Education, Research, and Outreach (GERO) Institute was recently the recipient of the Better Business Bureau Torch Award for Ethics. The GERO Institute focuses on enhancing the quality of life of older adults through proactive education, professional training, applied research, and community outreach. The BBB Torch Award for Ethics celebrates businesses and nonprofits that demonstrate an exceptional commitment to ethics and integrity.
